The shop is in the centre of the campus selling local produce and freshly made sandwiches to promote sustainable living. The building uses passive solar design taking advantage of the south facing aspect of the site to reduce energy use. The proposals include various green technologies such as a biomass boiler, solar hot water and photovoltaic panels.
