evaluationevaluation

Our evaluation services fall into three main areas:

Post Occupancy Evaluation: A systematic evaluation of opinions about the building in use, from the user’s perspective, which assesses how well the building is performing and which identifies ways in which the design could be improved.
Energy auditing: A detailed breakdown of the energy used in a building by type of consumption for example, the heating, the lighting, the air conditioning.
Comfort and sick building surveys.

Post Occupancy Evaluation (POE) is now required on many projects, particularly in the public sector for schools, offices and healthcare. The POE approach is to use the direct experiences of building users as the basis for evaluating how effectively a building functions in terms of its intended use. This analysis is often supported by a detailed energy survey and forensic inspection of the building in operation. Evaluation services benefit clients in many ways. They are useful for fine tuning new buildings and developing new facilities as well as for managing problem buildings. They are also an important tool in planning the refurbishment of existing buildings or even to establish maintenance and replacement policies.
